Pohatu Class👩🏻‍🏫 Assembly

On the 9th of May 2024, Pohatu Class had their first Class Assembly! After Lunch eating, Mrs James(she was our reliever) told us to go to the classroom for the roll. After the roll, Room 6 went back to the hall to practice for the assembly.  Bethany and Zaina were the MC’s for our class assembly.

 

 

I talked after the National Anthem because I was one of the people to talk about Warren Pohatu. I talked about The Kiwi and how the Rogokako won the race and Paua lost. Rogokako used his gaint pet kiwi to win the race. But, that was not the thing I was nervous about. It was about the Kpop dance Eva, Bethany and I were going to proform. I had a cute pink shirt with a hello kitty on it and some shorts. It was really cute!

 

When the assembly started, I felt nervous. When I had to talk about Warren Pohatu, my pronunciation was good, because they were some Maori words in there(I don’t know Maori). When it was time to do the Kpop dance, I felt so nervous. but I got over with it and most people liked the dance.

Pick a path👣 of sharing online👩🏻‍💻

On the 10th of May 2024, Eva, Zaina and Anoosha(me) made a pick a path for Cybersmart. We got to choose what level. Beginner, Confident and Advanced. Eva, Zaina and I worked together in Advanced. We had to make a pick a path about how to share online and what you should not or should tell people.

 

 

I found it challenging to pick a background and theme for our pick a path. The easy thing was writing the answers, the slides and also to basically do everything expect the background and theme was easy.

Minecraft⛏ Playground🛝 Project📜

Hola bloggers,

Today Eva, Zaina and I are making a Minecraft. It’s for reading this week and our focus this week is playgrounds. So the whole class(who could go on Minecraft Education) had to make a playground or something like that. Zaina, Eva and I choose to work together to make a water theme park.  We also had to take screen shots of the things we made. We have things like Pools, Water slides, Hot pool, Pakour and etc…

I found easy helping Eva and Zaina make things and make things too. I found it hard to think about how what we could put in there

Shortcut✂ Poster📜

ˈɡrēdiNG bloggers,

 

Last week, Room 6 did Cybersmart. In Cybersmart, we had to make a poster about our favorite shortcut.  I made one with Avaya(because she was my buddy) We made it on Google drawing and it was really fun! We made it at the last block last week. Also, the whole class listened while Mr Albert talked about bookmarks. He told us we NEEDED those bookmarks to get to them easier but we didn’t make a doc or slide about it. And I had all the bookmarks💅.

 

I found it challenging to find the pictures that Avaya and I liked to put on the Google drawing. The easy thing was to put the writing on and change the background.

🗞News Article 🎨

On the 20th of November 2023, Room 8 had to make a News Article on Google drawing. You could choose whatever uses AI because AI is our Inquiry topic.  The main ideas were Self driving cars and ChatGPT. Eva and I choose ChatGPT because it sounded the easiest. It sounded the eastiest because there is an app that is called ChatGPT that can tell you about ChatGPT.( it’s ChatGPT can tell you about her/him)

 

It was not that hard because I used ChatGPT. But, it was hard making the template and writing in my own words.

Almost🔚 End of Film🎦Festival🎎

Today I will write about how the Film festival went. The film festival is when we make 3 minute movies, then, they choose 3 groups to move on to make it better and who will Win! I was in Canada so I thought that my group wouldn’t move on. (And they didn’t) So, I’m going to tell you how things went(Kind of like that)

 

What did you enjoy the most?

I enjoyed playing my part and filming. Also, I enjoyed making the film together as a group.

 

What was the most challenging part?

The most challenging part was trying not to laugh in my scene and when filming. Also trying not to shake the camera too much when I was filming the movie.

 

If you could redo it, what would you change?

I would not change anything because I like my film and I NEVER would want to change it. I like how it is now.

Cybersmart Drawing Tutorial🖊

Happy Indian Language week bloggers,

On the 7th of November 2023, Room 8(My class) had Cybersmart. We had to watch some drawing tutorials on the google slides for the Cybersmart. We had to choose what do make, a Google Drawing, Google sheets or a drawing on paper. If you choose paper, you had to make a drawing tutorial. Vanessah, Eva and I chose to do the drawing on paper because we wanted to do the tutorial and we also wanted to draw on the paper. My video was 8:06 sec. Vanessah’s video was 9:26 sec and Eva’s video was 6:01 sec. We had to do a lot of retaking because people kept coming in or we messed up what we were saying. There were also a lot of pauses because we were about to laugh, or we had to show the paper to the camera while we were drawing so we obviously had to pause it so they don’t know we were doing it on a chromebook🤫.

 

 

If you wanted to see the video, Edublogs will not let me put on the video because the video is too heavy or too long. I’m sorry if you wanted to see my tutorial. I will TRY to put all the media I need in all my blog posts.

 

It was also funny when Eva or Vanessah said something weird or somthing I ALWAYS had to pause the video before I laughed. Because if I did not pause it, I would have to redo the WHOLE video.

🫠My Media Consumption🥇

On the 10th of October 2023, Room 8 went into Room 9 to do some Cybersmart. Miss Patel was doing the Cybersmart(Like teaching it) but Whaea Tanya was there and she usally teaches us so I don’t know. Miss Patel said we were going to be learning about Media.  We had to talk with a buddy and my buddy was Vanessah, but Betul also joined. We watched a video about what is media, then after we talked to a buddy again and after that, we had to tell Miss Patel what we said to our buddy. After, Miss Patel asked us, she showed us a slide and she made us do a thing where there were 2 circles connencted, and there were things on the side. We had to move the things next to the 2 circles if we had created it, consumed it or both. The slide looked like this:

 

 

After that activity, we had to fill out a Google forms about how much we do or go on Media. One of the questions was” Playing video games” and I picked About an hour option because I play like 20 mins a week so yeah.

Here is the slides for you to see all the answers(In a graphs) on a Google slides that I made with NO buddy.(Because we could not have a buddy 😿)

⌮Around the World show🌏

Yesterday and the day before yesterday( 20th and 21st of September 2023) we performed in front of parents for  Around the world. In the show, everyone in Hay Park School had to dance. We had to choose a group to dance in. Vanessah and I chose Bollywood. The first show that was in the Morning at 11:30am was not that scary because there were less parents and my parents were not there. But in the 2nd show that was at 6:00pm, MY PARENTS WERE THERE!!!!! I was so nervous but I did it! My mum was recording me the WHOLE time! Even when I was getting off stage! Even she recorded the Juniors dance! Our costume was a singlet and some ¾ tights. We put on a pretty skirt that was VERY itchy! We also wore a golden thing that they wore around the back and front. We had to put safety pins on the skirt and other thing so they would not fall off while we were dancing. My safety pins kept on falling off so I had to get another skirt and the thingy to put on and after putting on the new ones, they were not falling off after! Do you think that it was because of the pins or the skirt and the thingy? I think it was the pins because Miss Patel used the bigger ones on the new one.

😕How to make a🏮Lantern for Chinese Language Week⬅

Ni hao bloggers,

This week is Chinese Language Week and Eva  and I will teach you how to make a Chinese Lantern.

Steps:

  1. Get paper and scissors to use (coloured paper is better then normal paper)
  2. Cut the bottom edge of the paper (at the dotted line). This will be the future handle.
  3. Fold the paper in half “hamburger style” (at the solid line).
  4. Fold the paper in half along solid line
  5. Cut along dotted lines through both sides of the paper. Make sure to stop before you get to the end of the paper to keep the strips all connected.
  6. Starting from the folded crease, cut along the dotted lines.
  7. Unfold the paper and loop both edges together. Seal edges on both ends with clear tape (or a stapler).
  8. Seal both ends with tape.
  9. Tape or staple on your handle.
    • Optional: Decorate and hang as desired!
