✨Generating Media🌐 using A.I🤖

On the 13th of November 2024, room 6 did Cybersmart. Mr Albert told us that we are doing a lesson about Media. We had 3 options of what we could do. Our options were that we could create art and see if Ai can identify what you are drawing. Our second option was to turn text into painting to generate your own art. Our last option was to create a pick-a-path or Kahoot with a mixture of generate A.I images and original. Can the people playing identify the originals? Since Eva was painting in another classroom it was just Zaina and I. We chose to do the second task. There was a link so we pressed on it and it led us to a website called Firefly Adobe. Firefly Adobe is a website where you can write a description of what you want A.I to generate and four pictures appear according to your description.

 

I took a few screenshots of some pictures that are generated by A.I and are real pictures. Zaina and I  made a slideshow of the pictures that where generated by A.I and also real. The slideshow is a type of quiz that you have to guess if the picture is A.I generated or real. Have a try!

🎃Halloween story📖

On the 31st of October 2024(HALLOWEEN) Mr Albert told us to write a Halloween story on Google docs. I wrote about some kids researching about their school. They find some scary stuff and decided to explore the school at night, but what happens next?

 

I just wrote a bit because I didn’t want to write that much.

Here is my story:

🎃Doors🎃

Today was the night before Halloween. All the kids in class were excited. I heard one of my classmates say “I love trick-or treating!” And another one said “Same! Let’s go together!” I hate trick-or-treating. Knocking on some strangers door and asking for candy could be dangerous. What if they poison the candy or something. I stopped going trick-or-treating around the age of 7 when the news reporter said that some kids get poisoned from going trick-or-treating. Just as the second classmate said something, I heard something. A creek from the door! The door was opening, but it was just the teacher (Miss Reece).

She started teaching us how to use BEDMAS but I kept on hearing things. Like doors opening from far away, footsteps right next to me and even tipped Miss Recce’s coffee on the floor! Everyone darted their eyes to the broken cup on the floor, some girls even scared! “Whoever did this prank, stop it this instant!” Miss Reece said. I got why she was yelling, that was her favorite cup. No one seemed to answer, just sat there in their seats, looking at Miss Reece. Miss Reece sighed and used our class vacuum to make sure there was no glass on the floor.

The school day ended and that’s when I talked to my friends, Olivia, Emma and Liam. “Guys, this school is haunted for SURE” I told them. “What do you mean?” Olivia continued. “This school was built a few years ago, not that old.”Olivia said. “Ok, ok,ok but come to my house at 6:00PM. We will do some investigating about the school.” I told all my friends. “Wait, are we going to break in?” Liam asked. “Oh my gosh Liam, you are so dumb! Have you heard about the online platform called Google?” I told Liam. Liam just replied with an ohh, yeah. I had to go on another sidewalk separate from my friends to get home so I just said Goodbye. “Ok guys, see you at 6 at my house!” I said as I crossed the road carefully. Emma replied with a goodbye, so did Liam and Olivia.

 

Liam, Olivia and Emma knocked on the door and I opened it up. “Hey guys! Come on in!” All my friends walked in my house. We all walked to my room and started searching on Google for Auckland Intermediate School’s history. Oliva and Emma brought their laptops with them and Liam brought his Ipad. So they used that as well as their phones. I used my laptop and phone. We wrote down all the things that we found out about our school’s history.

 

A few hours later, I shared my ideas since everything my friends had seen, I had already written it down on the paper. I started saying the history like, the principle was the same person as it was now. It seemed fine since the school was just built in 2021, just 3 years old.I shared all of the research that I found on the internet. But then Emma said something. “Guys, look what I found” We all looked at Emma’s laptop and looked at each other in disbelief. “What, no! That’s so fake!” Olivia said. “No it’s not, look it’s National geographic!” Emma told Olivia. “The school was not built in 1968” Liam said. “I guess we have to go to school tomorrow night.” I said. “Seriously, at Halloween?” Olivia asked. “Yes, it’s the only night we can do it, because on November 1st, we are going to Camp, remember?” I replied. “Ugh,” Emma said. Then Liam got a message from his mum that he needed to come home now. I got why, it was 9:00PM and it was already dark. “Guys, my mum texted me, I have to go home now” Liam told us. “We’ll go home too.” Olivia and Emma said. “Yeah, it is already dark. Bye!” I told Liam, Olivia and Emma as they walked out of the door. “See you tomorrow!” Oliva said to me.

 

The next day, it was Halloween. We kept on talking about what we would do and how we would hide when it was the end of the day. “Wait, so we actually are breaking in the school?” Liam asked me as we were walking back to our class after play. “We aren’t technically breaking in, we will just stay in school.” I answered to Liam. “But what about our parents? What will we tell them?” Emma asked me. “Just text them and say that you are going to have a sleepover at my house and straight after school you are coming to my house. And I’l just text my parents that I’m coming to Emma’s house” I answered Emma. “Come to the janitor’s office after school today, but don’t tell anyone that we are doing this!” I said.

 

After the school day ended, all my friends (including me) meeted up in the janitors office. “This is so tiny!” Olivia said. “Anyways, I have everything we need in my bag. Torches, some snacks and water.” I say to everyone.”Lets go” We left the janitor’s office, turned on our torches and off we went searching.

 

We started off with our classroom, where Miss Reece’s cup fell down, just yesterday. When we walked in we heard a drawer shut. Miss Reece’s drawer connected to her table. I slowly walked towards it while Emma, Olivia and Liam were so scared! I opened the drawer but nothing. Just all of Miss Reece’s teaching things, like whiteboard markers and erasers, as well as pencils. I closed the drawer and my friends sighed with relief. We walked around, my friends behind me. Then, without warning, the door closed and it locked! We screamed and we tried so hard to get out. “Guys, I’m sorry this all happened. It’s all my fault.” I say to my friends, sadly. “It’s not your fault, It’s my fault for showing you guys that research I found.” Emma said to me.
A few hours later, we were woken up by Miss Reece. “WHat are you guys doing here? Come, follow me” Miss Reece says. We do as she says and we realize we are going to the principal’s office. The principal asked us what we were doing at school at night. We told the principal the whole story. We were suspended for a few days but that was okay.

🌎Our 🧳trip to Stardome🌟

This is my Stardome trip recount
(Pictures at the end)

On Tuesday the 6th of August 2024, rooms 1, 2, ,8 10, 6 and 8 got to go to the Stardome! Rooms 9 and 11 would go the next day. We started the day as usual, Mr Albert did the roll then off we went to the hall. We ate breakfast and did buddy reading. We also did Maths because we were leaving for the Stardome AFTER morning tea play. So, after Maths instead of Fitness, we got ready to go to Stardome. We(Room 6) got our bags and people handed out snack packs to everyone. I gave mine to Zaina because I didn’t want mine.

After that, we lined up to go to the hall with our bags. When we came in, we sat in our lines in front of the stage. Then room 8 came. We had Morning tea since we didn’t have any yet. Then Miss Mackenzie and Mr Albert decided that we could play until the bell rang for the end of Morning tea play.

So, Zaina, Eva and I went to the playground. The monkey bars were wet, so we went to play on the fire pole. We went under the wood and we were using the fire pole to fly. We were having so much until Eva PUSHED ME and I hurt my ankle but I was ok.

After the bell rang we came back to the hall where rooms 1,2 and 10 had came already. Miss Mackenzie said that Room 1,10 and 6 had the first session and rooms 8 and 2 will get the 2nd session so room 6,1 and 10 had to get on the bus first.

So we did. Zaina, Eva and I sat in two seats(because we can💅). We were a bit squashed but we were ok . We just talked until Stardome came along. All the juniors were so excited because they have NEVER been there before! We got off the bus and lined up in our classes to wait for a Stardome person to come.

After a few minutes, he came and told us to sit down inside. He said his name was Josh and he will be with us. So, we put our bags in cages so nobody would take them. Josh told us what we were going to do and then we went into a room.

In the room, Josh turned off the lights so we could see the stars that were shining from the projector. Josh told us when we can see Matariki in the sky and how the earth orbits the sun. Also he told us where Orin and Maui’s fish hook and how you can spot Matariki. You need to find Orion’s belt and if you look in the direction, you will see Matariki.

After that, Josh let us explore Stardome! We looked at all of the really cool things. We went to a place where we had to lift up milk bottles from Earth, moon and sun. Eva and I found out that the Sun milk bottles were GLUED on the table. After 10 minutes of exploring, we went back into the room and saw Kahoot was getting set up.

People were so excited but I don’t know what was so exciting. It was JUST a Kahoot, nothing special. But we got to choose our groups. My group was Zaina, Eva, Danika and a junior that I forgot their name of. Our name in the Kahoot was Mercury(because Josh set it up). Josh said that the winning team would get free movie tickets to Stardome again. Surprisingly, my group got first place! But then Josh said that EVERYONE will get one but he will give them to our teachers to give to us at school.

After the Kahoot, we went into the main place. We went into where we watched all of the things(I forgot what the room was called). We watched some Maori stories(3 to be exact) and after each story Josh would zoom into a thing in space. It was really fun when he zoomed in because people felt like they were flying! We stayed there for about 15 minutes.

After that, we sat where we sat when we first came and Josh talked to us. He asked if we had fun. We all said yes and we got our bags from the cages and went to eat lunch since Room 8 and 2 still had to do their turn.

We put the mats out on the grass since the grass was wet. I had a cake for lunch ( a rainbow cake). Mrs Jacob(Room 1’s teacher) said that we could go and play in the playground and we had to come back when she blew her whistle. Eva, Zaina, Danika and I ran.

We first ran to the train but sadly it was occupied. Then we just went around and started playing randomly around the playground. Eva, Zaina, Danika and I played on the house thing. We kept on yelling Mr Albert’s name for a joke! It was so fun and most of the time he couldn’t even hear us! About 20 minutes later, Mrs Jacob blew her whistle so we all came back to where we ate lunch.

We tidied up and goot in our class lines. Sadly, in the bus Eva, Zaina and I were separated😢. Zaina was behind me and Eva was in front of me. It was about a 10 minute ride back to school. Eva and I just did little talks but Zaina was behind me so it would be weird for all three of us to turn our backs to talk! Room 8 and 11 were already at school somehow. They were walking inside the school, so maybe they came 2 minutes before us?

Room 6 went inside the classroom and started packing up the class since it was almost 3:00PM. But when I put my chair up the bell rang so Mr Albert let us out. Finally, we went home and continued our day.

🎬Film Festival🎪 Progress

Salam bloggers,

Room 6 has started working on our Film festival movies. We first had to watch some movies from last year or from other classes and then we had to think about what movie we might make with our group about Relationship and Friendship. .My group is Eva, Zaina, Danika, Basma and me. We got to choose our groups and I’m happy we could. Eva‘s name in the movie is going to be Hannah, mine is going to be Aria, Zaina‘s is Violet, Danika‘s name is Ivy and Basma‘s name is Maria.

Our movie is called “Hannah’s Party” and our movie is about that Eva having a birthday party, she invites everyone except Zaina because of the way Zaina looks. Eva’s friends ask Eva to invite Zaina. Eva says fine but she doesn’t want Zaina to come near her. At the party, it was like Zaina was not even there to Eva. They were all playing happily and Eva‘s friends felt bad for Zaina. Zaina finally gathered up enough courage to tell Eva how badly she’s been treated. At the end all of them had fun at Eva‘s Birthday Party.

Eva learns not to bully or judge anyone at the end of the story.

So that is what our Film Festival movie is about. I really like the title and the story. We thought about the theme that was Relationship and Friendship and Zaina thought about the idea of the birthday party.

 

3 movies from our school(Hay Park School) will get chosen to get screened in the St Lukes EVENT cenimas and some more from other schools. Then, in Term 4 when the 3 movies have been chosen then the people in those 3 movies will come to the St Lukes EVENT cenimas to watch their movie and other schools movies too!

💕Kawa Of Care🤗 Poster📃

On the 25th of July 2024, Room 6 talked about the Kawa of Care. The Kawa of Care is basically looking after your device. Here are some of the Kawa of Care things:

  • Name your Chromebook bag, charger and chromebook
  • Charge your device before school or at home(if you take it home)
  • Ask the teacher if you need to borrow a charger from another person
  • Don’t use anyone else’s device
  • Keep your device in a safe place
  • Carry your device with two hands
  • Do not pull out your keys

We first went over some things in the Kawa of Care. We talked about what we can do to keep our device safe. After Mr Albert had gone over it, we had to choose one of the things that he said. Eva chose to name your Chromebook bag, charger and chromebook. Zaina chose the do not pull out your keys and I chose to do the one that is to keep your device in a safe place. We had to make a poster about the thing that we chose.

Winter❄️ Learning💡 Journey👣 Words🔠

On the 11th of July 2024, I chose to do an activity because I remembered that I have not done one in like, 2 days! I chose Activity eleven. Activity eleven was that we had to make as many words as we could out of the word SNOWSTORM. I didn’t want to think AT ALL. And when I finally wanted too, I could not think of ANY words whatsoever. I finally could think of only two words. The two words were snow and storm.

 

The challenging part was thinking the words(obviously). The easy part for me was to write down the words on the docs I made for the words.

Winter❄️ Learning💡 Journey👣 Kiribati🇰🇮 Poster 📜

On the 6th of June 2024, I went to the Winter Learning Journey site. I picked Activity 9. Activity 9 was we had to make a poster of simple words of the Kiribati Language. I searched up greetings, colours, shapes and numbers. I found out that Kiribati was in Oceania! I put the background as read because I searched up on Google what Kiribati‘s favorite colour was and Red came up. I added the flag and what I found out about Kiribati. Kiribati is a country in Oceania and the flag is so good! I love the flag!! I had no idea that Kiribati ever existed!!

 

The challenging part for me was to find the greeting, colours, shapes and numbers because whenever I clicked on a link, I could not find the information. The easy part for me was changing the background colour, putting in the flag image and writing.

Cybersmart💻 Star ⭐Activity📋

On the 27th of June 2024, Room 6 had Miss Campbell(Hay Park Schools’s Principal) and we had Cybersmart. We had to go on the class site and go on Cybersmart. Then, a site came up and we clicked on it. We scrolled down and they were instructions. We had to click on a template that lead us to a Google slides with empty stars. There were 5 slides and 1 slide had 1 star. It was the Matariki stars. They were Tupuānuku, Tupuārangi, Waitī and Waitā. We had to make a copy and put images in the stars of what the star meant. Like Waitā means its linked to food gathered from the sea. So then we had to put images of seafood. I finished all of them and also put the images in BG remove. BG remove removes the background of the image you put in. I showed Miss Campbell and she just said to change the background of the Waitī slide and then I could blog about it.

 

I found it challenging to choose images. The easy part for me was to put the images in and write about the star.

Te🥿 Mara🪵 Hupara🛝 Recount✍

On the 13th of March 2024, the whole school went to a Maori playground called Mara Hupara. I was really excited! Not because it was the first school trip of the year, it’s because I have never been there before! Eva told me that Hay Park goes there every year but it started last year.

 

I made a Recount about the Mara Hupara trip and I found it challenging to remember because sometimes I forget things. The easy thing was spelling, because sometimes spelling is hard for me

 

So, I made a Recount on Google Docs, and here it is:

 

 

Te Mara Hupara Trip 

 

On the 13th of March 2024, the whole school went to the Mara Hupara playground. I arrived at school. I sat down at my seat and did things, the bell rang after five minutes. Mr ALbert took the roll, and after the roll we went to the hall for breakfast. We all ate breakfast but we didn’t do buddy reading because the buses were already here. Our class went first with Room 1.

 

 Eva, Zaina, Thoms, Danika, Dani and I were sitting at the back. I had the window seat so I could lean my head on the window. We put our bags behind us because there was some space behind us. The ride was bumpy, and whenever the bus made a loud sound, Eva would always cover her ears. 

 

After we got off the bus, we all found out that we had to walk the rest of the way. It was like a five minute walk and when we got to the stream, it smelled gross. We also saw a person that was getting ready to dive in the stream and clean it and stuff. When we got to the place that we would be sitting, we found out that we were the first class. So’o and Miss Tower set out the mat so we could sit on it because it had rained and the grass was wet.  When the other classes arrived, we could eat our morning tea, and that’s what Eva, Zaina and I did.

 

After we ate, Miss Campbell said that we could play on the tree logs. We all ran there. The tree logs were laid out at various angeles. Like, uphill, downhill and straight. It was hard at first because  I had never been there and also, it was slippery.  I almost fell but I didn’t. On most of them, I sat down and moved across the tree logs. There was also moss on the logs so my uniform got a little dirty.  

 

After we played on the tree logs, Eva, Zaina, Krisha, Adam, Danika, Zaynab, Blane and I decided to play Hide and Seek. Danika first counted and Zaina and I hid in the same spot. And guess what!! Zaina and I were found last! After we were found. We decided to do something else.

 

 

Eva laid on the little hill on the grass and soon I joined her. While we were laying down, Blane was reading a comic to us. We weren’t acutally listening, Eva and I were just talking. After that, we went to play on the one log. The log was leaning on some wood so if we all went on, it would not fall. Mr Albert took funny pictures of us trying to get off that tree log when it was time to jump off because it was scary for us.

 

After that, we got to eat. I had one chocolate tiny teddy and one cheese slice. After that, Miss Campbell showed us 2 jackets because people didn’t pick them up. There was also one pair of socks.  

 

We lined up and we went into the bus. Ziana and I were together. Danika and Eva were on the seat in front of us.  After we got to school, lots of Waikowhai Intermediate were waiting to cross because they had learning conversations .  We went back to class and had free time!

Rebus Puzzles🧩 Kickstart Summer🌞 Learning🔰 Journey🏎 Task

On the 29th of December, I choose to do the Rebus Puzzles task for the Summer Learning Journey because it looked and sounded fun! I also choose it because I like to do stuff with puzzles, even if it has the word puzzle! It sounded fun because there was a word in the title that I didn’t know what it meant! That word was Rebus, meaning: a puzzle in which words are represented by combinations of pictures and individual letters; for instance, apex might be represented by a picture of an ape followed by a letter X.

 

What we had to do it we had to write a story that could be any type of story. What happened in real life, what you want to happen in real life or you could just write fiction. I choose fiction because in fiction you can add anything(even things that are not real) Then, with that story that you wrote on google docs, you had to take some words and put a emoji replacing it. An example is if  a word was “walking” in my story, I might replace that word with a emoji representing walking like this emoji:🚶. Then after you have put the emoji’s in your story, you share it on your blog. It also said that you could add a glossary of the emojis you used and I will put it after I show you my story.

 

The challengning part for me was where to put the emojis. Because sometimes I thought an emoji went there and there was NO emoji for it! The easy part was writing the story because I was writing fiction and it was not hard thinking of a topic to write about.

The Haunted 🏡

 

One day, 2 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 were 🚶 their 🐕‍🦺 when they came across  a haunted 🏡. The 🐕‍🦺 started to bark and the 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 couldn’t stop the 🐕‍🦺. They 🏃 passed that 🏡 and continued 🚶. 

 

The next day, the same 2 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 were 🚶 their 🐕‍🦺 again as usual. They took another route that didn’t have a haunted 🏡. But, as the 2 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 were 🚶 past a normal looking 🏡, the 🐕‍🦺 started to bark and bark until the 🧑‍🤝‍🧑and 🐕‍🦺 moved onto another sidewalk.

 

The 2 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 were so confused! It was a totally normal 🏡 and their 🐕‍🦺 just started barking all of a sudden. The next day when the 2 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 took their 🐕‍🦺 for a 🚶, they fully changed the entire route that they 🚶 and when the 2 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 and their 🐕‍🦺 arrived 🏡 that day, the 2 people were so happy because their dogs didn’t bark! The 2 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 used the new way everyday when they went for a 🚶 with their 🐕‍🦺.
