☀️Summer Learning💡 Journey🗺️ Masks🎭 of Te 🤗Moana ✨Kick Start✨

Kia Ora bloggers,

Are you enjoying the Summer holidays? I am!

So, on the 16th of December, I did a task from the Summer Learning Journey.  I decided to do the task called Masks of Te Moana. I had to make a mask (sea-themed) using paper. I had to option to use pencil, colour pencils, collage or paint. I chose to use pencil and colour pencils. I first went on a template that the awesome Summer Learning Journey people had given us and I traced one of the shapes for the mask. After that, I drew two fish eyes. It was a bit hard for me because I always made a mistake on the pupil. After I finally got the fish eyes right, I drew a random mouth open with teeth. Then, I thought the mask looked a bit boring from the bottom so I added a mermaid scale pattern on the bottom.

Again, I found it hard to draw the eyes. I also found it a bit challenging to figure out how to draw the mouth. I atleast practiced the mouth 3+ times so I would not get it wrong on my mask. And it turned out great!

Here is my sea-themed mask:

Hope you like it!

☀️Summer Learning💡 Journey🗺️ Cartoon📺 Collectibles🎴 Step👣 it up👆

Talofa Lava bloggers,

On the 9th of December 2024, the Summer Learning Journey started. I have finished the Kick start, here is the link. Now, I have done the Step it up. I had to use a template of a collectable card to do this task. I used the curve on Google drawings to make my animal. I tried to make a stingray.

I made the name of my stingray “Squiggly togs”. I just combined two words together. Squiggly and togs. It was kind of challenging to make the body of Squiggly togs because sometimes the lines would not connect. It took me about 10-15 minutes. It was easy to make the tail and think of a name. I just asked my family members to tell me a word.

Here is Squiggly togs/my stingray:

About Squiggly togs:

He loves to stay at the top of the ocean rather than at the bottom with the floor.

He has another friend called “Station slippery” and he likes to stay at the top of the ocean, too!

Squiggly togs drinks the sea water from the ocean and eats shrimp and snails.

Have you made a collectable card for fun? Tell me in the comments!

😕How to make a🏮Lantern for Chinese Language Week⬅

Ni hao bloggers,

This week is Chinese Language Week and Eva  and I will teach you how to make a Chinese Lantern.

Steps:

  1. Get paper and scissors to use (coloured paper is better then normal paper)
  2. Cut the bottom edge of the paper (at the dotted line). This will be the future handle.
  3. Fold the paper in half “hamburger style” (at the solid line).
  4. Fold the paper in half along solid line
  5. Cut along dotted lines through both sides of the paper. Make sure to stop before you get to the end of the paper to keep the strips all connected.
  6. Starting from the folded crease, cut along the dotted lines.
  7. Unfold the paper and loop both edges together. Seal edges on both ends with clear tape (or a stapler).
  8. Seal both ends with tape.
  9. Tape or staple on your handle.
    • Optional: Decorate and hang as desired!
